Self-Drilling Screws

Also known as...

TEK screws, drill screws are specially designed to drill, tap and seal in one driving operation. They accomplish this with a drilling point and special threads. Careful matching of point, shank and thread diameters ensures that your self-drilling screws have maximum tightness, sealing and resistance to stripping. See drilling action diagram below. Stocked in zinc plated and stainless steel.

Always match your screws to the job, considering both the finished result and the materials being used. Use round heads for work likely to be disassembled, and for fastening thin materials. Use flat heads when the screw head must be flush with the surface, or oval heads when countersinking is possible. If in doubt, use scrap stock to experiment with different types and sizes.
